In this nationwide airfare sale across six major cities, book one-way flights on select dates between 12 August 2026 and 17 March 2027, with travel windows varying by route. And, naturally, fares exclude checked baggage and are subject to availability and conditions.

Book flights to Tasmania from just $48 one-way to Launceston, if you live in Melbourne. But don’t stress, Sydney-siders, it’s only $59 one-way for you. Prefer Hobart? Fly there from Newcastle with fares from $59, Melbourne from $69 or Sydney from $79.

Additional sale fares are available from Adelaide to Hobart from $87, Brisbane to Launceston from $99, Gold Coast to Hobart from $106, and Brisbane to Hobart from $117.

What’s more, while a lot of flight sales only happen for travel periods that tend to be unpopular for a reason, the fares in this Jetstar flight sale are intentionally timed for some of Tassie’s famously cool events.

Winter in Tasmania brings its own rewards, from the boundary-pushing ideas of Beaker Street Festival to cold climate experiences like floating saunas, cosy reading retreats and dark sky cruises. Speaking of Tasmania’s much-lauded food scene, Bicheno Food and Wine Festival offers another chance to dive in. The festival celebrates local seafood, cool-climate wines, craft beer and regional produce in Australia’s best town, with live music adding to the relaxed coastal atmosphere.

Australian Wooden Boat Festival

Dates: 5–8 February 2027

Location: Hobart

Proof there’s a festival for every interest, the Australian Wooden Boat Festival is a free event held every two years. It’s the largest celebration of wooden boats and maritime culture in the Southern Hemisphere. A Taste of the Huon
