Melbourne is a walkable city, especially around the CBD and inner suburbs. The public transport system offers plenty of options, including free tram rides within the CBD and an extensive network beyond. Travellers will need a tap-and-go Myki card to access the system, which can be purchased online via the Transport Victoria website, at 7-Eleven stores, or at Myki machines located at train stations and some tram stops.

For airport transfers, the SkyBus service offers a direct connection from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross Station in the CBD.
